Details

The Signature Series is our most popular high-end grill. The body and lid are made entirely of 304 stainless steel; the grates are 304 stainless steel; the shelves, handle, and lid-stops are powder-coated galvanneal; and the square-tubing legs are powder-coated steel. Stainless steel, galvanneal, and powdercoat paint are all very durable materials and can withstand harsh outdoor environments; expect these grills to last a lifetime. You can leave these outside and BBQ, grill, smoke, or bake on them year-round, or grill inside your house with no smoke. (A greasy grill may produce smoke if you set it above 350 degrees.) Obviously, you should not use the smoker capability indoors, unless you have the optional vent system.

The Signature Series grills include electronic controls with AutoChef™ technology, dishwasher-safe grates and drip pan, dual cooking levels (you can cook on both levels simultaneously), large 8" wheels, and a smoker-tray attachment. High quality grill covers are also available.

Room-temperature pre-heat time is 10-12 minutes for normal cooking temperatures (300 to 350). Note that preheating is only important when baking; we seldom preheat when grilling and never when smoking. Because the insulated walls absorb and re-radiate thermal energy, you may briefly open the lid without significant heat loss.

At 480 square inches of grilling area (240 per level), these are the largest 120 volt grills available -- this is true even with one level! If you use both levels, you have more grilling area than many 240 volt grills.

Power Requirements

Our standard Signature grills draw 1750 watts at 120 volts. You must have a grounded outlet and in most instances, a GFCI outlet. (GFCIs are required in kitchens and outdoor areas by the National Electric Code; Wikipedia describes them in detail.)

The 1750 watt (or 15 amp) grill has a standard 3-prong plug and can use either a 20 amp outlet or dedicated 15 amp outlet.

Although you could plug the 1750 watt grill into a 15 amp duplex outlet (and it will likely work), you will not be in compliance with the National Electric Code unless the outlet is dedicated; i.e., there are no other outlets on the same circuit. If you do not have an appropriate outlet, check out our Metro Series, which can use any standard 110 or 120 volt outlet.

Grill Cover - High quality vinyl cover fits neatly around grill; velcro strip snugs it firmly in place. Many colors are available(charcoal gray is the most popular).

Additional Options and Accessories

Extra Smoker Tray - Although one smoker tray produces a tremendous amount of smoke (as much as we ever want), some prefer yet more smoke.

Locking casters - Maneuver your grill into tight corners and lock it in place. (Adds 2-3 week lead-time.)

Custom paint job - Color of your choice to match home decor.(Requires significant lead-time.)

Shipping and Assembly

The Signature grill comes in two boxes (one for the body and one for legs and shelves). Depending on your location, we use FedEx Ground or Spee-Dee; in most cases, you should have your grill in a week or less.

Assembly is fairly easy and takes an hour or less (20 minutes if you are experienced). You will need basic tools, including a medium or large Phillips screwdriver, a 7/16 inch wrench, and a 5/16 inch nut driver.

If you are in our area or you purchase from a local dealership, no assembly is required.
